What is a standard vibrating table?

Vibrating tables (standard), sometimes also referred to as "vibration tables" or "oscillating tables", are essential standard equipment in many industries and commercial sectors. At first glance, these tables differ only slightly from other tables: they consist of a base frame, an elastic mounting and a rigid table top. This transmits vibrations that can be used, for example, to deaerate or compact materials. Vibrating tables with basic equipment can be individually configured in terms of amplitude and frequency, which means they can be used in many different applications.

What types of motion can standard vibrating tables generate?

Standard vibrating tables operate with purely linear, vertical vibrations: these are particularly necessary for classic compaction. Alternatively, vibrating tables can oscillate in a circular motion, in which case the material being processed would primarily be loosened. The third variant, an elliptical vibration, is used when a linear vibration is required but two vibration motors cannot be installed due to space constraints. Or when a smooth start-up behaviour is important.

For which applications are standard vibrating tables suitable?

Vibrating tables are increasingly used in foundries, laboratories, the packaging industry and the concrete industry. They can be used, for example, to compact precast concrete elements or bulk materials, and are used for deaeration in mixtures and viscous materials. If containers need to be filled or emptied during production processes, this is also possible with standard vibrating tables due to the mechanical vibrations, e.g. filling stations with drums, sacks and big bags. In industries as well as in laboratories, vibrating tables (standard) are also increasingly being used for individual tests. These include, for example, material tests or service life tests. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the vibration resistance of products and materials.

In what sizes and power ranges are standard vibrating tables available?

Vibrating tables should perform their respective tasks without any problems, but at the same time they should not take up more space than necessary in commercial, production or industrial environments. For this reason, Knauer offers vibrating tables in various sizes, including compact versions measuring 400 x 400 mm as well as larger vibrating tables measuring 4,000 x 4,000 mm. When choosing a vibrating table, in addition to the size, you must also consider the centrifugal force required for the planned process. Our models also offer you flexibility in this regard: we offer different versions for each table size, starting at 2 kN for small tables and ending at 720 kN for large tables.
